Wounded in 22 Places

Ramsey

The Photo is that of private J.W Ramsey, first Battalion K.O.Y.L.I., of 113, Annerley Street, Denaby Main. Ramsey is a native of Swinton, and only enlisted on December 2, 1915, but on May 2, exactly 5 months after, his wife received the dreaded official intimation that he had been wounded at Hill 60.

He is now lying in the eastern General Hospital at Cambridge, suffering from no fewer than 22 wounds, caused by the bursting of a shell.

One arm is completely shattered, and it is feared that he will never regain the use of his other arm.

Ramsey was greatly respected by friends in the Don Valley, and his wife has been the recipient of numerous expressions of sympathy during her trouble.
