Back from India
Mrs. J. Christian, of 30, Tickhill Street, Denaby, has received news that her brother, Cpl. Alfred Taylor (28), son of Mr. H. and the late Mrs. Taylor, of 49, Braithwell Street, Denaby, is back in this country from India, where he has been in the Army six years.
Several houses in Tickhill Street had flags flying from the windows on Monday to welcome his return. Cpl. Taylor is in hospital in this country, after having spent 18 months in hospital in India.
He took part in the Burma campaign for six months, and has been in the Army seven years, formerly working at Denaby Main Colliery. His brother, also in India, is Sgt. Sydney Taylor (30), who came through Dunkirk.
