Killed In Action.
Mrs. Watkin, of 29, Daylands Avenue, has received official notification that her son. L/Cpl. Alfred Taylor, was killed in action on June 5th this year, while serving with the Middle East Forces. The last communication Mrs Watkin received from her son was dated Jan. 10th, 1942.
L/Cpl, Taylor will be remembered by his Denaby friends because at the time he joined the regular Army, in March, 1938, he was residing at 32, Barnburgh Street
He was only in the Army five months before he was sent out to the Middle East, and he has been in that theatre of war since hostilities commenced. He was employed at Denaby Colliery as a haulage hand.
