Transferred To Germany

News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. A. Taylor, of Castle Inn, Conisbrough, that their only son.  Pte. Ronald Alwyn Victor Taylor (21), a prisoner of war, has been transferred from Italy to Germany.

At the beginning of the campaign In Italy, Pte. Taylor escaped from his prison camp and was free for a few days in the hills. He was returned and is now in Stalag IVb.

Pte. Taylor, who volunteered, was taken prisoner in April, 1941, while serving with the Royal Army Service Corps in the Middle East. As a civilian, he was a baker for his father.

In a message to his parents, he says he is “Ok and still smiling.”
