Conisbrough to South Africa

Mr. and Mrs. W. Thompson, of Highfields Road, have this week received a letter from their son, Roland (Chick) Thompson, who is serving with the R.A.F. in South Africa, which contains a rather interesting item of news.

He states that he was “doing a bit of scrounging ” on a rifle range, when he came across a bundle of sickles and, out of curiosity he examined them closely and there, sure enough, he found the imprinted name of the Conisbrough firm who had made them.
