Now Sergeant

Recently reference was made in our columns to two sons of Mr. and Mrs. W. Thornton, 50, Doncaster Road, who are serving abroad, Ronald in India and William in the Middle East.  Since going abroad, William has risen from the rank of Gunner to that of Sergeant.

William joined the Territorials before the war and when hostilities started was immediately called up and has been in the Middle East for the past two years.  He is serving with a heavy A.A. brigade.
