Cpl. Leonard Whitehead, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Whitehead, of 21, Conan Road, Conisbrough, has been serving in the Forces for 14 ½ years. He joined the K.O.Y.L.I. as a bugler, and before the war saw service at Gibraltar.
At the outbreak of war, he was transferred to the Royal Engineers, and is now in Italy with the Eighth Army.
His brother, Harold (22) is serving with the R.A.S.C. and has been in the Army for three years.
