Soldiers Comforts

The Ladies sewing Party have been hard at work for several weeks providing comfort for the soldiers in the form of woollen helmets, shirts, scarves and socks at their meeting held at the old hall, Conisborough through the kindness of mrs ch allport.

Since the war commenced, the ladies have sent a large quantity of well-stocked parcels to the Conisborough boys in the trenches at regular intervals, and more especially so at each christmas season.

During the past week numerous parcels have been dispatched to the trenches for our local deserving soldiers. in addition to the aforementioned comforts each parcel contains a packet of cigarettes and a christmas card.

This is another example of the many excellent efforts made by the Conisborough ladies for charitable and philanthropic objects.
