Seasoned Soldier

Mrs. Hodgetts, of 4, Warmsworth Street, Denaby Main, has sent to us photographs of her two sons-in-law.

Sergt. John A. Senior, of 16, Castle Grove Terrace. Conisborough, joined the Army in 1922, and had 12 years’ service before the war, in India, Ireland, Malta and Egypt. When his time had expired he joined the Royal Engineers and saw service in France and was evacuated from Dunkirk, and is now stationed in Britain. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Senior, of Thornhill Street, Denaby Main.

Gunner Harry Jackson joined the Territorials in May, 1939, and was called up at the outbreak of war. He is in a Light Anti-Aircraft unit and happy in his work. Before enlistment he was employed at Denaby Colliery. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, of 13, Doncaster Road, Denaby Main.
