Serving Family

Three brothers who were born at Conisbrough and are now in Italy, are Willie R. Thomas (36) in the R.A.F. Signalman Joseph R. Thomas (25), serving with the Royal Corps of Signals and Dvr. R. Thomas who is 23.  Joseph was in the evacuation from Dunkirk, and has also taken part in combined operations in Sicily.

They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas of Frizinghall, near Bradford.  Their father and five sisters are working on munitions, and their youngest brother is to enter the Navy.  Four brothers-in-law are also in the Forces.  Pte. W. Wilson in Italy, Cpl. A. E. Holland in India, Mr. Hamilton, also in Italy and Mr. Whalley who is with the R.A.M.C. in this country.

Many of the lads have not met for four years.  Their mother serves on the home front, keeping house and looking after the grandchildren.
