On Way Home
Mr. and Mrs. Barnett, of 81, Annerley Street, Denaby Main, have this week received a further letter from the War Office informing them that their son, Gnr. Wilfred Barnett, has now arrived in America, and will be brought home as soon as arrangements can be made for the men to travel.
Gnr. Barnett was taken prisoner by the Japanese in February 1942 and was with many more recovered from a Japanese transport ship in which they were travelling. They have now been landed in America and in a letter which has also been received from him by his parents he states that he hopes soon to be home again.
He sends best wishes to his friends and relations.
