In Japanese Hands

After a silence of nearly 17 months, Mr. and Mrs. L. Lawcock, of Church Street, Conisbrough, have received news that their only son, Dvr. Colin Edwin Lawcock, is a prisoner of war in Japanese hands.

Colin, who is 26, was previously reported missing in Malaya. He volunteered for the Forces in March, 1940, and after serving with the R.A.S.C. was transferred to the Royal Corps of Signals.

Before being reported missing after he went to Malaya, his parents only received one letter from him. In July, 1941, he married Miss Doris Smith, of Balby, and before joining the Forces was proprietor of a drapery shop at Swinton.
