Some Conisborough Drunks

Thos. Glennon, miner, New Conisborough, was fined 10s., including the costs, for having been drunk at Conisborough, on the 7th inst.

The case was proved by Police-constable Barnett.

Another New Conisborough man who had fallen a victim to alcohol was Jeremiah Mannocks. He was charged with having been drunk and disorderly on the 9th inst

Police-constable Richardson, in stating the case, said that at 10.15 p.m. on the data named he was on duty on Denaby road in company with Police-constable Barnett, when, they saw Mannocks very drunk and making of bad language. They ordered him away, and he went into Loversall street. There he tried to get to his wife to smash her, but several men prevented him.

The officers had great difficulty in getting him to go away and be quiet

Police Constable Barnett gave corroborative evidence and the defendant was fined 20s, including the costs.
