South Yorkhire Miners’ Association

Last evening a South Yorkshire meeting on behalf of the at Rotherham. one of the secretaries, said he believed that in consequence of getting their rights at Denaby Main Colliery 300 men had received notice to leave their employment.

He counselled his hearers not to support the proposal to establish a permanent relief fund for colliers unless the proposers would take over their 300 and 600 children.

Referring to the probability of their being called upon to submit to a further reduction of wages, he said that if they did so, nobody would be benefited.
