Special Court
A special court ordered a large number of miners to the Conisbrough and Denaby district to pay back to the Doncaster Guardians certain loans granted as relief during the coal strike of 1921 at the rate of 2s 6d a week.
A false impression was current at the time the loam were granted that the relief was a kind of dole which had not to be paid back.
Although applications have been mode from time to time 568 persons had neglected to repay arguing no doubt that they accepted the loan under a false impression.
