St Chad’s – Damaged Already
The new St. Chad’s Hall of the Parish Church, which has not yet been officially opened but was used for the first time last Monday, was damaged on Tuesday.
Children climb over a concrete fence which has been erected on the far side of the hall to enclose the new playing field for the school, and it was on this side of the building that the damage was done.
The largest window of the building is over the double emergency doors and through this window half a brick was thrown and apparently it just missed hitting the electric fitting which indicates the “emergency” exit.
The brick was found on the floor inside the hall. It is distressing to church members who have saved and struggled and given to provide the new hall and then to find that twice in a short time it has been damaged deliberately.
