Stealing Coal from the New Railway at Conisborough
Benjamin Wall was charged with stealing six stone of coal, the property of the contractors of the new railway, on the 25th October.
P.C. Peckitt said at five o’clock on the date named he saw the prisoner; there were two others with him, and he was filling a sack with coal. Prisoner, on seeing witness, ran away. The weight of the coal was six stone, and was worth 1s.
Defendant was fined 10s. and costs.
