Good Friday
John Edwards, who had several aliases, was charged on remand with being at Conisbro’ for an unlawful purpose on Good Friday. Since last Saturday it had been ascertained that the man had been several times convicted, and is at present under police supervision. Defendant was committed to the Sessions for trial.
Albert Shooter, pit sinker, Conisbro’, was charged with stealing a watch and Albert guard from the person of George Revishaw, lamp cleaner, Westwood, on the 1st April.
Prosecutor’s case was that he had been with the prisoner at a public-house at Conisbro’, and leaving the public-house they went and sat down, and while sat down prisoner took his watch and chain. The defence was that the things were taken from the prosecutor after Shooter had left him.
Defendant was committed to take his trial at the Sessions.
