Stocksbridge Church 2  Conisboro’ St. Peter’s 2

This interesting match was played at Bracken Moor, Stocksbridge, on Saturday, before a good gate, much interest being centred in the visit of the Conisboro’ team, who are the prospective champions of the league.

The home team led off with dash, but were soon driven back, as the visitors’ backs defended in grand style. At the interval the home men led by one goal.

On resuming the visitors attacked with vigour, and soon scored. End to end play followed for a while, but the Church had the hardest of luck in front of goal. The visitors then rallied to the attack, and they took the lead with a fast long shot. Subsequently the home team were all over their opponents, and, drawing level, one of the fastest games ever played on the Stocksbridge Church enclosure ended as follows:

Stocksbridge ………… 2 goals
Conisboro’ ………….. 2 goals
