Stolen and Restored
Two Denaby boys pleaded “Guilty” at Doncaster on Tuesday, to stealing a bantam hen, valued at 1s., the property of Joseph McDonald of Denaby.
Inspector Redfern said the bantam was missed from the hen run between March 3rd and 8th, and on the latter day was brought back by the younger boy. The older boy said the younger one told him to take It.
Inspector Redfern said the younger boy’s father gave information to the police. The elder boy was further summoned with being concerned with a boy of eight in stealing a cockerel, valued at 5s. the property of Mrs. Edith Ellen Ibbotson, of Denaby. He said that the younger boy took It. and the other boy said the older boy told him to take the cockerel.
The boys were bound over for 18 months, and the magistrates thanked the father of the younger boy for helping the police.
