Strange Leap from a Window At Conisborough

A man named Ralph Chapman was found on Saturday morning in a field at Conisborough with his leg broken.

On Thursday he took lodgings at the Star Inn and on Saturday morning it was found that he had jumped out of the bedroom window, his boot being found in the room, and the window open. The door was locked.

A search was made for him, and he was discovered in a neighbouring field as stated.

He had recently come out of prison, where he had been sent for embezzlement; and, as he was in a low state of mind his friends were communicated with, and he was given into their charge.
