Straying Animals

Hy. Taylor, butcher, Conisborough, was summoned for allowing two cows to stray on the highway at Conisborough on July 14th.

P.C. Jarvis said that at 3.45 a.m. he saw the cattle straying on the highway. He had cautioned the defendant several times before for similar offences.

Fined 1s. and costs.


George Wagstaffe, carter, Conisborough, was summoned for allowing three horses to stray on the highway at Conisborough on July 16th.

P.C. Truman said he saw the horses straying, and drove them back to their proper field, which had no hedge, owing to the ravages of the colliery lads.

Fined 10s., including costs.
