Sudden Death to Colliery Fitter

Yesterday, a fitter at the Denaby Main Colliery, named Jonathan Hey, and living at Mexbro’, died suddenly.

The deceased was seized with inflammation of the lungs the previous day. His age was 45.

Deceased leaves a widow and seven children, the eldest being a junior teacher at the Doncaster road Infant School. The widow is the only daughter of Mr. Thomas Bennett, a member of the Mexbro’ Local Board.

Ambulance Class

A largely-attended meeting of Denaby Main miners was held on Monday night, Mr. Chambers, the manager of the colliery, in the chair, when arrangements were made for lectures during the winter season in connection with the ambulance class just formed.
