Supporters Club Final
It was a case of third time lucky for Rossington Street Junior school footballers in Denaby United’s supporters club schools football final at Tickhill Square on Friday evening.
Twice before they have reached the final, but not until Friday had they won it – and in this match they beat Balby Street 2 – 0.
Thompson and Duffty were the scorers. Balby Street have a splendid record in the competition, having reached the final four times. They were beaten by Morley place, who have won the final twice before Friday’s defeat by Rossington Street.
The final was described as “one of the best there has been” Doncaster Rovers’ inside forward, Alec Jeffrey, presented the cup and medals.
