Surveying Success

Mr. Roy Mackenzie Carlin, only son of Coun. And Mrs. A. M. Carlin, of 45 Highfield Road, has gained his certificate as a mining surveyor.

Mr. Carlin, who is 21, is a member of the surveying staff at Denaby and Cadeby Main Collieries and since he left Mexborough Secondary School, where he obtained School Certificate, he has been a part-time student at Doncaster Technical College, where he is one of the three students who have passed the mines surveying examination this year.

Mr. Carlin, who is continuing his studies, was during the war connected with the Parish Church and Balby Street Youth Movements and was also a member of the local Civil Defence Messenger Service.
