Montagu Cup Replay.
Swinton Church 2, Conisbro’ 1.
Some good football was witnessed yesterday (Thursday), at Conisbro’, in the replayed tie between Swinton and Conisbro’ ex-soldiers in the first round of the Montagu Cup.
The first match was stopped on account of the light, with Swinton leading 5—4.
Yesterday Swinton scored first through Waterfield. Early in the game they last Tatton, who was injured.
They scored again just after halftime through Kerry, and then Gregson found the net for Conisbro’. The same player put in some fine shots for the home team subsequently, but the game closed ‘without any further scoring.
