Outrage at Conisborough
Another Arrest.
At Doncaster yesterday Isaiah Gough, collier, Whinney Hill, was charged with highway robbery at Conisborough on Monday night.
On Wednesday two men named Martin Myers and Emmanuel Gibbs, colliers, were charged with a similar offence, and remanded for a week.
The three men are said have been drinking with Edward Strannack. a rag and bone dealer at the Three Horse Shoes and Red Lion Inn. After leaving the latter place they went towards Hill Top, when a man named Wardle was assaulted and sent away.
Then the three men are asserted have set upon Strannack, and dragged him into a wood, where he was gagged and robbed of £7 and a few shillings and his watch.
Gough, who has only just been apprehended, was now remanded.
