20,000 cumulative 6% preference shares of £10 each £200,000

The above-mentioned Shares are all fully paid, except seven of the ordinary shares, upon which only £1 per share has been paid.
300,000 4 ½% debenture stock
Of this stock hundred £108,850 has already been privately Subscribed, without underwriting, and subscriptions are now invited for the balance of £194,150 , in amounts of £50 or multiples of £50 payable:
10% application, 20% on allotment, 20% on 30 June 1898 and 50% on 31st of December 1898
Payment may be made in full on allotment, or at any date before 31 December 1898. Interest will accrue from the date of each payment, and will be payable half yearly, on March 31 of September 30th.
The Defence Stock takes priority over the Preference and Ordinary Shares, both in respect of capital and interest.
The issue is divided into two classes of stock viz:-
“A” 4 ½ percent stock, irredeemable by the company repayable in June 30, 1914, and at each succeeding 17th year, at the option of the holder, provided six months’ notice be given on or before January 1 in that or any following 17th year
“B” 4 ½ percent stock, repayable on June 30, 1894, and every succeeding seventh year, and the option of either the Company or the older, provided six months’ notice be given by either side on or before January 1 in that or any following seventh year.
