The Denaby Strike.
Claim Against the Miners’ Association.
Yesterday, an echo of the Denaby strike and the evictions which followed that event was heard in Doncaster County Court, when the Yorkshire Miners’ Association were sued for a debt of £1 12s., by Granville George Flinders, ’bus proprietor, Mexborough, for work done in 1902.
Plaintiff said he was employed to convey the evicted miners and their families to Wath, Goldthorpe, Bolton-on-Dearne, and other places.
He said he got his instructions from Mr. Croft, who was chairman of the Denaby branch, and they were told from Barnsley what to do.
Mr. Raley, of Barnsley, who appeared for the Association, said the order came from the branch, and the Association were not responsible. It was six years ago, and no claim was made until now.
The claim was dismissed.
