The Fullerton Hospital, Denaby Main
The general subscribers and others interested in the above institution will be much pleased to hear of the very substantial assistance rendered by the subscribers who have conveyed the land from the generous donor, Mr. J. S. H. Fullerton, to the trustees of the new hospital.
Messrs. Broomhead, Wightman, and Moore, the well-known Sheffield solicitors, were entrusted with the work of preparing and executing the deed in question, and that the trustees were well advised in securing their services is amply demonstrated by results, the whole of the work in this connection having been accomplished with every satisfaction to all the parties concerned.
Agreeable surprise was exhibited at the meeting of the committee on Monday, when Mr. W. H. Chambers, on behalf of the trustees, presented the account of the solicitors, which amounted to £3 6s. 2d., this being the costs actually incurred for stamps and registration and enrolment fees.
A letter was at the same time read, stating that in order to further the object no charge whatever had been made for the work done by themselves.
Needless to say, this treatment on the part of the solicitors mentioned was very much appreciated by the trustees and committee, who unanimously passed a hearty vote of thanks to them for their great kindness and generosity.
The secretary was instructed to write a suitable reply to the letter of Messrs. Broomhead, Wightman and Moore, and convey to them this resolution.
A vote of thanks was also passed to Mr. W. H. Chambers, who replied on behalf of himself and trustees.
The tenders for the building of the hospital are now being considered, and it is hoped shortly to commence operations.
