The Right Man from Denaby

Wm. Westwood, miner,  Denaby, pleaded not guilty to using abusive language at 4-45 p.m. on Saturday night week.

P.c. Shuter described defendant’s conduct. When witness spoke to him defendant said he was very sorry for using the language.

P.c. Needham bore out P.e. Shuker’s story.

Defendant said that the first witness put his foot out to trip him up. He never spoke a word to the police “whathsumiver.”

Supt. Hickes said there were three previous against the old man.

Westwood: Is your honour sure you have got the right man? There are two William Westwood’s.

He admitted being fined for a similar offence.

Fined 2/6 andcosts.
