Harry White, miner, of new Conisborough, was charged with being drunk and disorderly at Conisborough on December 11
PC Evanc said he was on duty in Denaby Road when he found the prisoner drunk.
PC Jarvis borne out that statement.
Fine 20s including costs.
Henry Ward, miner, of new Conisborough, was charged with a like offence at Conisborough on 12 December.
PC Jarvis said he found the prisoner drunk and cursing and swearing in the street.
Mrs Ward (who appeared for her husband): he never left the doorstep.
P.S Brown said he was with PC Jarvis at the time, and defendant was in the middle of the street cursing and swearing. He told the police and to go to “h—-“
The chairman: have you anything to say? – Mrs Ward: no it’s no good saying “owt” when such fellows as these are knocking about (laughter) he never went out of the house, and he didn’t say three words
Fined 20s including costs.
Wm. Lister, labourer, new Conisborough, was charged with being drunk and disorderly at the same place on the 14th inst
PC Evans proved the case, and defendant had to pay 20s. Including costs.
James Carey, Collier, New Conisborough, was charged under familiar circumstances on December 14. Prisoner, who pleaded guilty to being drunk, and did not know about the disorder play, said it was his first offence.
He was fined 15s. Including costs.
John Severty and Edward Brammer, Colliers. New Conisborough. were charged with being drunk and disorderly at Conisborough and the 14th inst.
PC Evans said on that date about 8-50. He was on duty near the Denaby hotel and there saw the two defendants drunk and fighting in the street, when they saw PC Jarvis approaching they ran away.
PC Jarvis corroborated.
A fine of 20s including costs each was imposed
Alfred Calderbank, Collier, Mexborough, was charged with being drunk and disorderly at Mexborough in December 15.
Defendant who pleaded guilty was fined 5s and 6s 6d costs
