Theft of Rabbits by a Denaby Miner.

At Doncaster on Tuesday, William Morris, a collier of Denaby, was charged with stealing six rabbits on the previous Saturday afternoon.

Mr. James Richmond, coal merchant, stated that be kept a number of rabbits behind a house in the occupation of Mr Temple, and on Saturday afternoon he missed six.

Robert Scholey, brickmaker said that on Saturday prisoner was at his house, and gave his son six rabbits. When asked where he got them from he replied, “I bought them up there,” pointing to Temple’splace.

When apprehended in charge, he said he knew nothing about any rabbits.

Remanded to Saturday.
