Theft of Rabbits by a Denaby Miner

To-day at the Doncaster West Riding Court, William Morris, collier, of Denaby, was charged with stealing six rabbits on the previous Saturday afternoon.

Mr James Richmond, coal merchant, stated that he kept a number of rabbits behind a house in the occupation of Mr Temple, and on Saturday afternoon he missed six.

Robert Scholey, brick-maker, said that on Saturday the prisoner was at his house, and gave his son six rabbits. When asked where he got them from he replied, “I bought them up there,” pointing to Temple’s place.

When apprehended in charge, he said he knew nothing about any rabbits.

He was remanded.
