Theft of Turnips at Denaby

Lisa Fearn, a little girl, of Denaby, was charged with having stolen turnips of the value of 1d, the property of James Braithwaite, farmer of Denaby on 17 August.

PC Midgley proved he had seen the defendant committed the offence.

The bench imposed a fine of 5s 7d including costs and damage.

George Heathcote, aged 10, of Denaby, was similarly punished for stealing turnips from Mr Braithwaite’s field on 21 August.
