They Can Be Proud of Achievements at the Community Centre

Members can be proud of their achievements at Conisbrough old people’s community centre since it was opened last year. This was stated by the chairman of Conisbrough Urban Council, country Coun. A Hayward J. P, speaking at the first anniversary celebration of the centre on Tuesday.

“When the centre was opened last year, comment was made on how nice the building was, but it is the community spirit created by the members that has made the centre such a great success”, said Coun. Hayward.

On Monday, tea was served for 100 members of the centre and disabled people and on the Tuesday, a further 100 were entertained by the centres committee.

Guests on Tuesday were county Coun. And Mrs Hayward and members of the council, Mr E. T. Miller, clerk to the council and Mrs Miller, members of the council staff and the rev. G. F. Braithwaite, vicar of Conisbrough, and Mrs Braithwaite.

After tea, the party was entertained by Ella Payne’s concert party.
