They Reach Their `Silver’ in the States

A former Denaby Main resident, now living in Moline, in the United States, celebrated her Silver Wedding Anniversary recently.

Mrs. Joan Depew, daughter of Mrs. ‘Whitehouse, of 2, Wheatley Place, Denaby Main, by her first marriage to the late Mr. L. Nettleship, was married at Denaby Parish Church by the Rev. Maurice Clarke on March 7th, 1945.

Her husband, Dwain, was serving with the U.S. Naval Forces in England at the time, while Joan was in the A.T.S.

Son a Teacher

The couple, who have one son, Leslie, a school teacher, visited relatives and friends in Denaby Main in 1950 and 1966 and attended the church at which they were married.

They celebrated their anniversary with a party for 80 friends in Moline and received gifts and good wishes from friends in Denaby and district.

Mrs. Whitehouse visited her daughter in 1959 and again in 1968 on the occasion of her grandson’s wedding.
