Lance Corporal Thompson, 43 Annerley Street, Denaby Main, has been wounded a third time.
He is a married man with six children, and has been serving since August 1914.
He has seen service in Gallipoli, eating, Salonika and France.
His injuries are to the leg and foot. Before enlistment he worked at the Denaby main colliery.
