A Title for the Sixth Time

For the sixth time a Conanby couple, Mr and Mrs Ernest Tuck, 31, the Oval, and one a Butlin’s dancing title and have entered the regional finals of the National Amateur Valeta Contest.

It isn’t many years since Mr Tuck, who works at Denaby Main Colliery, and his wife, Mrs Everill Tuck, a student at Swinton Day Training College, decided to take a serious interest in amateur old time dancing.

They started going to classes together, and when they took their holiday at Butlin’s Skegness Holiday Camp they tried out their skill and won the first of their six victories in the heats of the national Valeta Competition.

So far their five entries into regional finals had been unsuccessful, but after their sixth win last week Mr and Mrs Tuck will be trying again this winter.
