Tom Hill Youth Centre – At Kilbrough Manor and Siegar

A party of members of Denaby Tom Hill youth club returned on Saturday after spending a delightful holiday at Kilnrough Manor and the Gower Peninsula.

They enjoyed glorious sunset bathing and lovely scenery while enjoying a full programme of events. In competitions held at Kilnrough Manor, Margaret Ball of Blyth Street, won the girl’s table tennis tournament, G. Anderton, of Doncaster Road partnered by G Flaherty of Edlington Street, won the boys table tennis doubles. Brian Reeve of Balby Street was defeated in the final of the boys table tennis singles. Many members took part in the concert range for the Friday evening and all enjoyed the companionship of other young people from Wolverhampton, Bournemouth, Nottingham, London and Berkshire.

The club party at present in Siegar, Germany, are having an interesting and enjoyable holiday. Full arrangements have been made for visits to the Rhineland and many acquaintances have been renewed. This exchange between the youth centre and the town authorities of Siegar have now enabled well over 100 young people to exchange holidays and share their homes. On Tuesday, a party will visit Wombwell youth centre for the netball and table tennis and to take part in a social evening for a group of German guests from Olpe where a party have previously stayed from both Wombwell and Denaby.
