Tommy Joyce Will Be on Denaby Bill

Conisbrough’s Tommy Joyce, A.B.A. champion and Scottish international is definitely to fight at Denaby Tom Hill Youth Club’s boxing tournament on March 31st.

Area youth officer Mr Alan Henry said that Joyce had provisionally accepted an offer to fight at the tournament, which will be held at Denaby Welfare, and had since confirmed this.

“It is hoped to match him with R. Hudspeth, (Darlington), an English international,” said Mr Henry.

“There will also be open class boxers from Rothwell colliery, Doncaster Plant Works, and Croft House Youth Club, Sheffield, as well as young boxers from Tom Hill, Dearne Youth Club, and Rawmarsh.”

Bookings start on Monday, and tickets, available from either the Welfare Institute youth office, or the club, will cost 6s, and 8s., and there will be room for 300.
