Took Money, Left Pearls

Conisbrough Bank Manager Robbed

Thieves who entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Partridge, Heber House, Church Lane, Warmsworth, before lunch this week, smashed open the back door, stole £30 in cash and goods worth another £20, repaired the back door, and made off through the front entrance.

Mr. Partridge, manager of the National Provincial Bank branch at Conisbrough, and his wife, were away. ‘Oddly enough.” said Mrs. Partridge on Wednesday, “they did not touch the silver, my pearls or several valuable rings. “Some of the money belonged to the children and lay under a pile of toy soldiers. But they found it.”
