A Traction Engine Owner Fined.
Samuel Whitfield, traction engine owner, of Conisborough, was summoned for having allowed his traction engine to travel on the highway without a person proceeding it, at a specified distance, on the 13th inst.
Police constable Midgely stated that the man who should have been walking in front of the engine was riding.
The magistrates imposed a fine of 25s., including costs,
