Traffic Census at the Crossing

It was rather interesting to read the result of the traffic sensors recently taking near the Denaby Crossing.

This shows an hourly average for 8 hours in the day of:

20 omnibuses,
80 private cars,
100 motor vans or light lorries,
30 motorcycles and
1100 bicycles,
in addition there were heavier vehicles.

It was been an urgent necessity for years that had bridge should be erected over the crossing and the local authorities have pressed the matter, unfortunately, so far, with little result.

The figures revealed by the sensor should stimulate a new effort on behalf of road users who are often “held up” at great inconvenience also it would be an opportunity in providing local employment.
