Trains Obstructed.

Miner-Ramblers’  Hooliganism At Conisborough.

A serious menace railway traffic at Conisborough has been disclosed by reports received regarding the foolish conduct of -week-end miner-ramblers.

It has become habitual for gangs of miners over the pot-ridings at the rear of the Cadeby pit and dislodge huge boulders to see them flash down the hill side, crash through the fences and drop 10 to 13 feet to the Hull-Barnsley railway cutting.

The free passage of trams has been obstructed, and one train, yesterday, had a narrow escape from being thrown off the metals. Fortunately, the safeguard device attached prevented an accident.

One huge piece of rock, weighing about quarter of a ton had been set rolling, and would have been certain to put an engine off the line it had been struck, but the boulder had struck a post in the ground and become fast.
