Trespassing in Wood.
No Right of Road.

At Doncaster, to-day, Mr. W. M. Gichard appeared behalf of Mr. J. S. H. Fullerton to prosecute several defendants for doing damage to undergrowth in Denaby Wood.

Mr. Gichard explained that there was no right of road through the wood, although paths had been made in various places. There were several notice boards about, but some of these had been pulled  down almost soon as they had been put up, presumably by persons who considered they had a right of road through the wood.

Mr. Fullerton thought it necessary take these proceedings in order to preserve the privacy of the wood.

Fines were imposed as follows: William Severn, miner, and Albert Atkinson, grocer. Mexbro’, each 5s. with 6s. 6d. costs and 6d. damage.

Edward Corncroft and Robert Corney, miners, of Denaby, 12s. and 9s. 6d. inclusive respectively.

Stephen Mycock, miner, Denaby, 12s., and his wife, Prudence Mycock, 9s. 6d.
