Two Colliers on the Spree
Asa Scott, collier, Swinton, and Joseph Scott, collier, Denaby, were charged with drunkenness at Conisbro’, on the 20th inst.
Police-constable Gaylee proved that the defendants were drunk and fighting on the day named in Conisbro’. He was sure that Joseph Scott was drunk. Police-sergeant Calcraft said the defendants were both drunk and fighting.
Defendant Joseph said he had had only “four pints,” and he was leading “Asia” off home. “Asia” fell down, and he fell on the top of him.
Defendants were fined 10s. and 12s. 6d. costs each.
