At this Court, on Saturday, before Lord Auckland and others, Frederick Day, a glassblower, of Swinton, was charged with a breach of the Railway Act, and with assaulting Wm. Hawksworth, of Conisborough, on the 27th ult. Hawksworth is a non-unionist and Day a unionist.
On the day in question they went from Doncaster to Conisborough in the same train. On the journey, after using abusive language and frightening nearly everybody in the train, the defendant assaulted Hawksworth.
He was fined altogether 45s. and costs.
