United’s Excellent Progress

Denaby United are making excellent progress with their teambuilding and there are strong prospects that they will be able to field a capable side this season.

Manager A Roberts and Financial Secondary RW Lupton have now signed 19 professionals and amateurs, who will report for training Tickhill Square next Tuesday evening.

Latest signings are a Rotherham United goalkeeper for the past two seasons, Wilkinson, and the re-signing of Jack Wheat, was so successful during the latter half of last season. Wheat was previously with Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday.

Denaby United’s Supporters Club have undertaken to provide the United with a new set of shirts, shorts and stockings in time for the club’s opening match. The Supporters Club will also provide a new match ball for the first game; they realise that while they are hoping to obtain red and white hooped shirts, the club registered colours, they will have to take what is available.

Denaby will open the season with an evening game against Ransom and Marles at home on September 2, and have been drawn at home to Maltby Main in the English Cup.
