Unlawfully Trespassing at Conisborough.

Henry Broom, Joseph Linarcey, William Chapman and William White, Colliers, all of Denaby, were charged by Caleb Kilner, glass bottle manufacturer of Conisborough, with doing damage.

Mr B Shirley appeared on behalf of the prosecution.

A watchman, in the employ of Mr Kilner, deposed to seeing the men in a field of mowing grass, belonging to his master and, as this was a continual practice, he took the names of the men and summonses were issued against them.

They had done damage to the amount of 1d.

Mr Kilner had cause to frequently complain of trespasses upon his feels.

The men seem to congregate for the purposes of matches, prize fights and things of that sort.

The man Broom, who appeared, was fined five shillings, to pay 1d damage, and 11s 6d costs and the others were each fined 10 shillings, the damage and costs.
